SkinPen® Precision is comprised of an ultrasonically sealed hand piece which is fitted with a sterile disposable cartridge that houses 14 stainless steel surgical-grade microneedles (~250 μm diameter). Its unique reciprocating mechanism is housed in the disposable cartridge for precise calibration. Its coupled reciprocating mechanism allows for complete and consistent insertion and retraction of the needles on every rotation. The SkinPen® Precision device works by creating millions of controlled microscopic channels in the skin. These microchannels stimulating the body’s natural wound healing process, while minimising cellular damage.
This rejuvenates the skin from the inside out. The three phases to the wound-repair process:
Phase 1 - Inflammation: The wound healing response begins with the inflammatory phase; controlled micro-injuries to the skin triggers the immune system to cleanse, stabilise and repair and increase bloo-d flow
Phase 2 - Tissue proliferation: This phase sees the initial regeneration of new cells and the regeneration of new blood vessels.
Phase 3 - Remodelling: During this phase the collagen and elastin mature and become stronger and the skin’s integrity is increased.
